How can Norwich’s parks be improved? It’s time to have your say...

Do you think the parks and green open spaces close to your Norwich home could be improved?

Perhaps you are very happy with them and this is a key reason why you chose to buy a property in the area and invest in your future here?

Norwich City Council has launched a public survey to help shape the city’s inaugural 10-year strategy to further enhance our parks and natural green spaces.

These facilities are for everyone to enjoy, and the council wants greater access for all communities, with improved recreation, sport and leisure opportunities, and greater sports participation.

The strategy will not only focus on community benefits but also ways to promote biodiversity and encourage wildlife.

Some of the issues up for discussion include:

*How we can best manage different kinds of green space given the mix of facilities – from our many historic parks to our valued allotments, children’s playgrounds to our peaceful cemeteries

*What more can be done to promote accessibility for all

*Where do we best use limited resources, to get the best results for the most people and maximise opportunities for external funding?

Councillor Emma Hampton, cabinet member for a climate responsive Norwich, said: “Our city is rightly proud of being one of the greenest in England, and we want to enhance some of our best assets.

“I’d encourage people to take this opportunity to share with us what they want to see and let’s hear some really innovative ideas on how we can make our parks and green spaces even better.”
